So, we went to Park City. I got off work early on Friday, we packed our bags and headed for the mountains. We checked into our hotel and that night we went out for dinner at Squatters. Turns out, just about every menu item at Squatters is made with beer which made ordering rather difficult. BBQ chicken pizza sounds safe right? Well the pizza crust had ale in it, and the BBQ sauce was made with beer. Ok, how about a burger? Well the bun was made with beer as well. I'm down with the idea that 'it all cooks out' but I figured that in my present 'condition' I'd just play it safe. So I ended up with what I thought would be like a Cafe Rio salad. All I can say is, Cafe Rio, don't be worried about Squatters stealing your customers. After dinner we walked around Main Street that night.
This cute bookstore had a real life cat!
David is a fan of tickling...he wanted to get this for our little girl. I had to convince him that it was a terrifying book.
I was set on going to a bakery, so the next morning we went to the Java Cow and had crepes for brunch. David and I love crepes! They are so yummy!
After breakfast we went to check out the Kimball Arts Center.
Next on the agenda was the Olympic park. We watched some youth athletes practice freestyle skiing. They go down these slopes and land in a big pool of water. It was fun to watch. They also have a museum that was fun to check out. They had lots of memorabilia from the Salt Lake City Olympics.
37 Weeks : )
After the Olympic Park we hit up the outlet stores. David got some new clothes, and decided to save my money for when I can fit into regular clothes again. :) When you're 37 weeks pregnant it is not the time to go clothes shopping.
One of the most fun things about this weekend was being able to try so many new places to eat. For dinner we ended up at Cafe Trang. We were a bit weary as we went in. We were the only ones there! Not usually a good sign. I really wanted to get something good to make up for my Squatter's menu choice from the night before. I also wanted to try something new. We got some pot stickers to start off with and then I ended up with the Massumon (sp?) Curry and it was SO good! So Cafe Trang turned out to be a winner. David got some BBQ Pork with Snap Peas. We were both pleased with our orders and there is a Cafe Trang right here in SLC, so we'll probably be back!
Is it just me, or do fortune cookies get more and more random these days? We thought ours were pretty strange. I think the first one means "beware of old people."
After dinner we went back to the Java Cow to get what I had been waiting for! A giant ice cream cone! They were so yummy. I woke up craving the brownie explosion ice cream this morning! I also found a cute little teddy bear there that I wanted to get for our baby girl that was really cute. As soon as had our ice cream and bought the bear, we were ready to head home.
Sooo yummy! We'll be going back here someday for sure!
Before you become amazed that I was able to hoist myself up there in my condition, notice the chair. : ) Also notice the pipes above, that cafe was ca-ute!
It was a great weekend. I loved spending time with David. We had so much fun together. I'm so glad we've had these two years to be a couple.
Just me and my sweetie! Love you forever!
We're ready to bring our daughter home, and I'm sure it will be difficult to adjust to a new, crazy lifestyle of parenthood, but I also know that I've got a great partner at my side. We make a great team and I'm excited for what the future holds. So let the countdown begin!! Let's get this little girl in our arms!
