Honeymoon

The first night we stayed at the Little America Hotel in Salt Lake City.  It was really nice, we loved the buffet breakfast and room service at 11:00pm!

The next morning we went to see our nephew, Grant, get his baby blessing and then we were off to our get-a-way in the mountains.  We spent the rest of the week at my Uncle Chris's townhouse in Midway, it was wonderfully relaxing!

Our first Family Home Evening

We planned a few fun day trips for our honeymoon, first up was a trip to the Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake.

Then we went to a Dave Matthew's Concert (Davids favorite band)

We also went to Lagoon for a day, but apparently we didn't want to carry the camera around so we don't really have any pictures.  After our week of fun we moved into our new apartment and started to get settled.  I thought all our honeymoon plans were done until David surprised me with a trip to Bro. Bradford's house to ride horses!  It was a lot of fun!  David plans great surprises!

August 14, 2010 - A Perfect Day

This was, without a doubt, the best day of my life.  David and I went through a lot to get to this day, but it was all worth it.  We were surrounded by family and friends and we were sealed for eternity, and as my dad always says, "It doesn't get any better than this!"  The weather was beautiful, the temple grounds were beautiful, and it truly was a perfect day!  I remember walking into the sealing room with David and seeing it filled with some of the most important people in our lives (minus some siblings who aren't endowed!  Love you guys!)  The spirit was so strong, and we were both so happy to be doing something we'd worked for our whole lives.  What a great blessing! To be sealed in the House of the Lord, by priesthood authority!

After the sealing I went to change into my wedding gown and David went to get his tux.  Sorry to everyone who had to wait in the heat for us to get all dolled up.  But I'm sure you'll agree it was definitely worth the wait!  Check us out!

It was so fun to see David for the first time in his tux!  Due to some weird tradition brides don't show their grooms-to-be the dress before the big day.  David didn't think this was quite fair, so he decided not to let me know what he was wearing for the big day either.  I was completely surprised when I saw him!  What a good-looking husband I have!

We had our reception that night as well, and it was a blast!  We had lots of fun and here are some pics to prove it.

 Favorite moment of the reception, hands down!  David completely surprised me by sitting me down in the middle of the dancefloor and serenading me!  He was really getting into it if you can't tell!  It was the best!  People will be talking about it for years to come!

Let's Start at the Very Beginning...

a very good place to start. Unless of course, your beginning was over 4 years ago. That's another reason starting a blog is a somewhat daunting task. I feel like I need to fill everyone in on the last four years. Don't get me wrong, I'll be the first to say our story is pretty amazing. Our own little fairy tale if you will. But, I've decided to start from where we are now just to make it more manageable. Plus, most of the people who would care to read this already know our story. And I think I can manage adding some things from the past 4 months, that's easier than 4 years. So we'll start on my favorite day, August 14th, 2010!

Fairall Tales

Every time I type my new last name, I get a squiggly red line under it. Apparently my computer doesn't recognize that I'm married now and Fairall really is what I meant to type. I right-clicked once to see what suggestions my computer had for me and one suggestion was 'fairy'. I have been trying to create a family blog for us for a while now, but refused to do it until I could find a truly witty title. When I saw this suggestion I immediately thought "Fairall Fairy Tales!" I told David my wonderful plan of how we could have a precious themed blog. I would be the princess and he would be my prince charming and we could blog about our perfect, fairy tale marriage! Surprisingly, he wasn't opposed, on the condition that it wasn't pink all over. So today I set out to create our precious blog and decided to go with Fairall Tales instead. Perhaps not incredibly witty, but I rather like this toned-down version of the original idea. It still hints at fairy tales (same amount of syllables at least) but feels a little better than fairy god mothers and magic spells. So there you have it, how the Fairall family blog came to be! Stay tuned to read about all our tales and adventures. And for the record, David is still my prince charming!
