When we checked in, the lady who supervises the campground informed us that we would be camping at our own risk. You see, there had been a bear cub sighting earlier that day...and where there's a bear cub... yeah we decided to stay because we are pretty extreme.
We set up camp, we had two two man tents (one for the Fairalls and one for the Mortensens). After we were all set up we played games (well a game, and it took us two days to finish it). Then it was time for DINNER! Which was super yummy.
| We had steak-ka-bobs too! YUM! These are chicken. |
After dinner we found out that there was something wrong with the water so we had to walk up to the latrines (word for bathroom when camping) to wash our dishes! Then the Mortensens treated us to a delicious peach cobbler in the dutch oven. We hung out by the fire and then decided to call it a night.
I don't know why you always seem to wake up so early when you're camping, but it always happens. David and I woke up a little after 6am. And know that I think about it, I probably woke up because the ground was so bumpy. Anyhow we got going with our day, big thanks to David for being the fire boy! And sorry about all those bug bites you got while searching for tinder! None of the rest of us got any bites...well I didn't, I haven't actually asked Caitlin or Isaac. Also, another big thanks to the Mortensens for making great dutch oven food! The mountain man breakfast was good too.
This was so much fun! We should make that a tradition or something!
